Benefits
- A hot sweet-tart cup when your throat feels dry.
- Honey, lemon, and sugar can each be changed after the first sip.
- It uses a kettle or a microwave and about ten minutes.
Ingredients
Original recipe (1X) yields 1 serving
Directions
- Set a mug, the honey, half a lemon, and the sugar on the counter.
- Heat the water until it steams. A kettle is enough. In a microwave, about 90 seconds gets a full mug hot without boiling over.
- Stir the honey into the hot water until the mug looks clear again.
- Add the lemon juice and stir. Taste before the sugar. Add it only if the lemon still tastes sharp.
Tips
- Stir the honey while the water is still steaming, or it sits in a lump.
- A ripe lemon needs less sugar than a very sharp one.

I skipped the sugar. The honey was enough, and the lemon still came through.

Good when the water is very hot. Lukewarm water left the honey sitting at the bottom.
